The walk offers a combination of wide sandy beaches, sea views, dunes, pine groves, campsites and seaside resorts. Thanks to its flat terrain, it is suitable for visitors of all ages.
One of the advantages of this route is the option to return by public bus, eliminating the need to walk the entire distance back.
Highlights along the route
Punta Sabbioni – Gateway to Venice
Punta Sabbioni is one of the main departure points for boats and vaporetto services to Venice and the islands of the Venetian Lagoon, including Murano, Burano, Torcello and Lido di Venezia.
The Venetian Lagoon
The northern part of the Venetian Lagoon lies just behind the coastline. This unique ecosystem is home to numerous bird species and offers a landscape very different from the open Adriatic coast.
Historic Fortifications
History enthusiasts can explore the remains of the former coastal defence system, including Batterie Amalfi and Batterie Vettor Pisani. These military structures were built to protect the entrance to the Venetian Lagoon and still feature bunkers, gun positions and underground facilities.
Cavallino-Treporti Campsites
The area is famous for hosting one of Europe's largest concentrations of campsites. Many of them provide direct beach access and extensive facilities for families.
Faro di Piave Vecchia
The route ends at Faro di Piave Vecchia lighthouse near the mouth of the River Sile. The area is particularly popular for sunset photography and coastal views.
